Database Management & Administration

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our organization’s databases. The ideal candidate will ensure data integrity, security, and performance while supporting business operations and application development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems (SQL, NoSQL, cloud-based).
• Monitor database performance, security, and backups to ensure high availability.
• Optimize queries, indexes, and database structures for efficiency.
• Perform data migration, integration, and troubleshooting tasks.
• Develop and enforce database security policies, user roles, and access controls.
• Implement disaster recovery (DR) and data backup solutions.
• Collaborate with developers to design scalable and efficient data models.
• Automate database maintenance tasks using scripts and tools.
• Stay updated with database technologies, security threats, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or Database Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
• Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
• Familiarity with database replication, clustering, and failover strategies.
• Understanding of database security and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
• Experience with database automation, scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell), and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications like Oracle Certified DBA, Microsoft SQL Server Certification, or AWS Database Specialty.
• Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of database monitoring tools (New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus).
